About EDCLA

Organized in 1875, the Elbert-Douglas County Livestock Association (EDCLA) is one of the oldest livestock associations and is a affiliate of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA). EDCLA promotes health, education, agricultural business, land and resource stewardship, family and community in Elbert and Douglas counties.

EDCLA has more than 120 members who take an active role in the issues that affect livestock owners and producers. Major issues include the future of agriculture, brand laws, grazing and water use, noxious weeds and predators.

EDCLA takes pride in our youth. Annually EDLCA provides three $1,000 college scholarships to Elbert and Douglas county seniors that will be attending colleges in an agricultural-related major. EDCLA sponsors the annual barbeque at the Elbert County Fair which along with the “Ride with the Ranchers” trail rides help fund the scholarship program.
